Spitfire Mk.XIVc

This is the upgraded Spitfire with the installation of the two-stage Griffon 61 engine. Six Mk.VIII airframes were used for flight development. After the initial success, the production of the Mk.XIV (type 372) was started with the Mk.VIII airframes strengthened to install the large Griffon 65 engine with five-blade rotol propeller. The "C" wing armament was used on the early versions. Later versions were built using the "E" wing. The main role of this fighter was the interception of the V-1 Flying Bombs. It was the first RAF aicraft to shoot down a Me.262

This kit includes the pieces necessary to build either the full or clipped wing versions and all of the cannon variants.
